Who we are

Founded in June 2023, the Haitian Grassroots Coalition of Midwest (HGCM) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Indiana.

In Marion County, Indiana, Haitian immigrants are a unique and growing part of the population, with significant contributions to the state's economy and culture.  From housing to healthcare to education, the quality of life of the immigrants in Indianapolis remains a huge challenge.

The socio economic civic is particularly characterized by strong workforce participation, entrepreneurial activities and established support networks. However, the immigrants face inequality, stigmas and unclear immigration policies.

The Haitian Grassroots Coalition of Midwest supports the immigrants journey to community integration by offering programs to assist with resources to overcome educational disruption, cultural, language barriers, social isolation, youth leadership mentoring, and mental health awareness.

Our team are value-driven leaders who believe in the power of relationships to inspire, invest in core values and create lasting change.

We cultivate meaningful partnerships, motivate the youth to expand their vision for a stronger future generation, and expand our organization’s reach to impact the communities we serve.
